DIY Striped Shower Curtain

What you need:

White Fabric Shower Curtain

Tulip Fabric Paint

Painters Tape

Foam Brushes

Decide how big you want the stripes & how many..

I let T handle this part..I don't do numbers.

Mark with a highlighter where you will place the painters tape

tape off your stripes

Start painting

When you're done painting let it dry for 3-4 hrs

DIY Monogram Dish

What you need:

White plate, bowl, or dish

Acrylic paint

Sharpie

Modge Podge

Paint brushes

Painter's tape

I put painters tape around all four corners,

put a coat of mode podge on and then began painting the center pink.

I used 20629 Raspberry

After about 4 coats I applied modge podge to seal the paint

After the modge podge was dry I drew my monogram with a silver metallic sharpie and then painted it in with Martha Stewarts Metallic Sterling Acrylic Paint

After it was dry I put ANOTHER layer of modge podge on

Okay y'all so today I'm linking up with A Blonde Ambition for Confessional Friday

I confess I've been itching to do something different with my hair and sometimes I even want to go back blonde.

I confess I'm ready to go back to work..don't get me wrong I've enjoyed my time off but we have some great concerts lined up for this season and I'm ready to get back in the action.

I confess I finally cleaned out my closet..I wanted to start the new year fresh and more organized..I donated almost 10 bags of clothes to the goodwill and it felt great to get rid of things that I just don't wear anymore.

I confess I have an obsession with chevron, so much so that I'm thinking about painting one of our walls the infamous pattern.

I confess I swore to myself I wasn't going to watch The Bachelor but I got sucked into watching it online today and how can I not continue to watch after all that craziness.

I confess I'm so thankful for the friends I have met through my blog, I never would have expected to form such great friendships just by starting this blog.

Yes, I admit it..I've been slacking in the blogging department lately. So here's a little update in pictures...

We got together with some old friends for a beer/wine tasting

M&M Pretzel Treats

What you need:

Snyders square pretzels

Milk chocolate hershey kisses & candy cane kisses

Christmas m&ms

Goodie bags, ribbon and tags

Line cookie sheet with wax paper and fill it with the pretzels

Start topping the pretzels with the kisses

Put them in the oven for about 5-6 minutes at 160..make sure you watch them very carefully.

Once you take them out of the oven top them with m&ms

Package them up in the goodie bags and add a cute tag

Last year I shared with y'all my DIY Ornament Wreath and I loved it so much I thought I would highlight it again this Christmas :)

[Step one]

get a wire hanger and untwist it.

[Step two]

work the hanger into a circle

[Step three]

gather all of your ornaments together

[Step four]

very important that you hot glue the top of the ornaments on before you start stringing them, otherwise once you get a lot on the hanger they will pop off.

[Step five]

String the ornaments on the hanger. Once the hanger is full twist the two ends of the hanger back together and intertwine them together. Finally, finish it off with a bow!

This year T and I did a little research and decided we would visit a Christmas tree farm to pick out our tree! We found a place that wasn't too far from our house and headed to get our tree! We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous day!

I work for Live Nation, a live entertainment company. I'm the Assistant Manager of two local music venues here in Raleigh; Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion and Raleigh Amphitheater. The reaction I get when I tell people what I do is generally pretty funny, yes, I love my job, yes I may get some great benefits but I work long hours..{12-14hr days sometimes} and the number of crazy fans I deal with on a daily basis is ridiculous. Panthers Game

Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloweekend!

Since T and I had to get up early Sunday to drive to Charlotte for the Panthers game we decided to not go out this year..I was sad at first because I love dressing up for Halloween but going to bed at a decent hour made getting up early and driving 3 hours a little easier. I did want to share with y'all our costumes from the past 2 years because they are just too cute and not to mention completely homemade my moi.

So like I said early Sunday morning we headed to Charlotte for the Panthers game! This was actually our first game ever and we were lucky enough to get suite tickets through work!

The view was pretty awesome and it actually turned out to be such a gorgeous day!

oh and we were also able to meet up with my bestie and her fiancé before the game

love this picture..all four of us finally together!

on the ride home we sat in traffic for over an hour..I love Charlotte but I definitely don't love the traffic there. While we were sitting dead still on the highway I was able to snap a pretty picture of the skyline!

Overall, we had a great weekend!

oh and I promise that I'll be back later this week for a hair tutorial-per request..get excited! :)

So today is the day you can officially 'preorder' the iPhone4s..

I'm kind of in between with this new iPhone..but yes I did set my alarm for 3am to get up out of my warm & cozy bed to preorder this little gem..

Lets travel down iPhone memory lane shall we..

who could forget the ORIGINAL iPhone and all its glory

I remember when this thing came out..it was 2007 I think? I remember drooling over the commercials they played on tv and thinking how cool this phone looked and that I just HAD to have it...luckily I already had at&t and I got it a few weeks after the release and was thrilled. It was everything I had imagined and more..I was in love. Every time someone would see me pull my phone out of my purse they would say "omg-is that an iPhone..can I play with it?" I'm not gonna lie..I felt cool. haha this phone was very loyal except after about the 2nd year I had it and ended up getting 5 replacements..uh yeah that's right 5..luckily the apple care paid for all of those except the last one when my software went to crap and I had to pay FULL PRICE for the iPhone3g. but I still have my original iPhone to this day and use it as an iPod since the wifi still works :) I'm thinking it will be worth something as an antique some day haha

To be honest, I don't remember the 3g being that different from the original iPhone..besides maybe the camera was a bit better and safari loaded faster...oh and I think that's when they added the 'copy and paste' feature. I had this one for about a year and then got tired of the crappy service I was getting from at&t (99% of my calls would get dropped) and I switched to Verizon..which was before they had the iPhone.

then came the iPhone3gs..by the time Verizon got this phone I was already a loyal Blackberry user and didn't feel the need to switch over. Basically I heard all the same reviews of this phone, better camera..faster download time yadda, yadda, yadda.

It wasn't until the iPhone4 that I started to think maybe I wanted to switch back to Apple..after all I loved my first iPhone so I figured the newest one would have tons of more features like facetime..there was only one problem..homegirl was still under contract and I was not about to pay the full retail price. So I figured I would wait.

and that's where the iPhone4s comes into play..I had heard rumors about that new iPhone being released sometime in October and luckily my contract would be up in late August so I figured I'd just wait it out..and I'm glad I did!

So goodbye Blackberry...

DIY Wine Cork Letters

I have a fun little DIY project for y'all...

Wine Cork Letters

I don't know if y'all know this or not..

but I love me some wine and I also collect wine bottles..

so why not make something cute from all those left over corks?

Here's what you need:

-Wooden Letters (I got mine from AC Moore)

-Wine Corks (they also sell these at any craft store)

-Hot Glue Gun & Glue

There really is no tutorial needed..you just glue the corks to the wooden letter.

It was kinda like a puzzle to figure out which ones fit where since my corks were all different sizes..
oh and make sure you sit them all down on the letter first before gluing them down.

I decided to put my letters on top of our fridge with my wine bottle collection..but you could hang it on the wall, put it on the mantle, or on your front door.

A year ago today.. I posted my very first post on blogger..

never in a million years did I think that my blog would turn out to be what it is today!

When I started blogging, I really didn't realize what I was doing, I didn't know what to post about, how to design my blog, or who I should follow.

Not only have I found some amazing blogs, but I have found some amazing people..some whom I've met in real life and some I haven't..but hope to one day.

My blog is more to me then just a website.

It's somewhere where I can get advice, humor or knowledge.

and my blog definitely would not be what it is today,

without Y'ALL..the readers.

So thank you, for the advice, the laughs, the tips/tricks or even just sweet comments.

Hey Y'all so it seems that everything and everyone is going more 'social' now a days and I thought I would share with y'all the newest thing going on in the concert ticketing world...

Facebook Tagging!

Here's how it works..

you select the concert you want to attend and the interactive seating chart pops up...with a new little 'connect to facebook' button

when you click this button you are prompted to log into your facebook account and after doing so facebook flags pop up for everyone of your friends that has bought a ticket to that concert.

you can then click on each friend and see their individual seating location, including the section, row and seat number. This can help you to buy a seat near/next to them.

Once you make your ticket purchase, you can then tag your seat and share it on facebook for all your friends to see.

Here's the video that explains it..

So basically, the whole idea of this Facebook/Ticketmaster integration is to help
consumers find tickets near their friends..and of course to boost revenue.

So what do y'all think? Is this helpful..or kinda creepy?

I'm loving that I met my first blogger yesterday!

We met for dinner and had such a great time and found

out that we def have a lot in common!

Oh and btw Jana and a fellow blogger just started a fabulous new blog

about all things football related (tailgating, gameday attire, etc) so go check it out :)

I'm loving the ending of Monday nights Bachelor Pad episode. How sweet! I loved Ames on Ashley's season and was super excited when I found out he was going to be on Bachelor Pad! I have to admit that T def called the ending before it even happened! I was getting so upset when Jackie was voted off and was super sad for Ames...saying awwwhhh poor guy...this is when T says "oh well I bet he will end up leaving to be with her" and I was like nu uh..and then what does he do runs after the limo! oh goodness, such good tv! But it looks like according to People Mag that in the end they didn't work out :(

I'm loving that it is finally cooling down outside. These past few weeks it has been in the upper 100's which is crazy. I would basically melt when I got in my car after work. Now its staying roughly around the 80's and I couldn't love it more..especially since now I can drive with my top down without sweating through my clothes! I'm not loving that this means summer is almost over!

I'm loving...the Ke$ha show we had last night at our downtown amphitheater

LMFAO was with Ke$ha and they were quite the show! Definitely entertaining.

Ke$ha isn't one of my veryyy favs but I like some of her songs..I've always thought she was a little strange..but while I was helping with her meet and greet she seemed pretty normal and was actually wayyyy prettier in person (this is probably due to the fact that she looked like a simi normal person and didn't have blue lipstick or permanent marker all over her face) see for yourself..

much more normal..right? Besides sweating my butt off running around all over the place the concert was actually a really fun one and I got to take a break and hang out with T in our box.

I'm loving that I don't have to work this weekend which meanssss major pool time for this girl!! I need some sunshine in my life, lets just hope it isn't 110 like it has been the past few weekends!

I'm loving that my birthday is a month from this Friday! I feel like the past couple of years my birthday has just snuck up on me..but not this year, I'm ready for it :)

I'm loving that T and I are ALMOST finished redecorating our place. We are doing it room by room and only have a couple more things to do. I absolutely can't wait to show y'all what all we've done, including quite a few diy's I found on pinterest of course :)

Hey y'all I just wanted to update you a bit seeing how

I've kind of been absent the past couple of days and I wanted y'all to know why.

If you follow me on twitter then you probably already know this but my Daddy has been having serious health problems..so much so that he was rushed home from work because he had a "mini stroke".

This weekend was spent with my family and luckily my Daddy is doing a lot better but still has a long road ahead of him full of all sorts of tests.

Thank you to those of you who sent me sweet messages on twitter, they mean so much.

I'm back at work now and hope to be back to blogging regularly soon.

Okay, after that ridic post I just had I thought I needed to liven it up a bit and share with y'all a little something that made my mood from Thursday a lot better.

As most of y'all know I LOVE country music..it's just a product of being born and raised in the South..after all my blog is titled after one of a Miranda Lambert's songs!

Friday Toby Keith performed at our venue and guess who was with him...mmhmm that's right, Eric Church! As I've mentioned in my previous posts..it's not very often that I actually get a break from work to see the artists perform...but Friday I did get to ~~sneak~~ beg my boss to let me go down to see Eric's performance..(oh and did I mention our office and the entire venue was getting audited by corporate from LA..diff story for diff post) Luckily we had two other supervisors, other than myself, in the office so he gladly agreed to let me go see him! I met up with one of the girls in our marketing department and we headed to the stage. I'd have to say that after dealing with so many complaints on Thursday I was so happy to see one of my favorite artists perform..thank goodness there are SOME perks to my job.

Let's just say my view wasn't too shabby ;)

The time I cried at work..twice

Thursday was one of the hardest days I've had in a while...I tend to not get to personal on here and I like to be known as a happy person but Thursday I just lost it. I don't know if it was just stress since work has been CRAZY lately or what..but I broke down and actually cried twice at work. I try to not let things bother me..I kind of have to have a hard front seeing as I get fussed out about 5 times a day..one of the many joys of working in a somewhat customer service position. But it just gets so hard to take one rude person after the other when I am just being completely friendly and polite.

Oh and y'all the number one rule in the concert ticketing world...

DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKETS FROM A SCALPER

I'll try to not bore y'all with details but basically Thursday I had to deal with 389745937465 complaint calls because one of our concerts had a venue change because ~~there weren't enough tickets sold~~ 'production issues'. In reality it shouldn't have been that much of an issue because the customers who purchased tickets were offered full refunds or replacement tickets..but the ticket replacement didn't work out that smoothly.

So around lunch time I had a lady come to my office to "exchange" her old venue tickets for new venue tickets. Okay, sure no problem. I kindly asked her where she had purchased her original tickets so I would be certain I was giving her the correct new tickets. The lady proceeded to tell me that she "didn't know" where she purchased them and that her husband had bought them "somewhere online". Okay..not a problem.. I asked her to call her husband to ask him..she said she couldn't. I then took her tickets and looked them up in our system and found out that they belonged to company which happened to be season ticket holders. I figured that possibly this company had given her the tickets and I asked her if she knew what this company was..her answer "no..never heard of it?"

So after these redflags I told her that I could not give her a refund because she was not this particular season ticket holder and her name was not on this account..in addition to the fact that she could not tell me exactly where she purchased them. I kindly told her to just get in contact with the person she purchased the tickets from because they should have received the new tickets and it was their responsibility to give them to her. To say the least this did not go over very well...I then asked her if she purchased the tickets through a third party website...she EVENTUALLY said yes.

This just confirmed my suspensions and I again told her that I would not be able to refund or exchange her tickets. This was followed by her YELLING multiple obscenities at me and asking to speak to my manager..I told her that I was the assistant manager and that my manager would tell her the exact same thing...she still insisted to speak to him..turns out he had gone into our staff meeting and couldn't come out to talk to her. When I told her this...ohhh boy, things got even more heated and she thought I was lying to her..which I had no reason whatsoever to do. She insisted that she would wait to talk to him. I kindly said okay, and that I would let her know when he was out of the meeting.

This lady waited for almost 2 HOURS..finally my manager spoke with her and told her almost EXACTLY word for word what I told her and she just walked away....SERIOUSLY???? she hardly even had an attitude with him. Either I am WAY too nice or people just think that can walk all over me because I'm a girl. Sheesshhh people.

After this lady I then had a guy tell me that he was going to take us to small claims court because he wanted a refund for a certain concert because the artist had a broken foot and took a break in between a few songs...seriously buddy? Doubt you want to take a multibillion dollar company to small claims court.

Those are just two out of manyyyy complaints I had on Thursday which is why I broke down..On top of all of that I found out that my dad had to have a CT Scan and a EKG on Friday..both of which did not turn out so well.

I need prayers y'all!!!

I'm loving that I was actually able to attend a concert..I'm always a busy bee overseeing all of my staff in the box office that I never really get a chance to sneak down to the pavilion to see a show but luckily I got the night of to go see O.A.R at our downtown Raleigh Amphitheater!

I'm loving that T and I are planning a little vacay to Palm Beach to visit one of my best friends Bryttani..B and I met through work and became very close..she's not only one of my best friends but also my own personal stylist/make up artist..B works for one of my fav beauty brands, Laura Mercier and def knows her stuff..I'd be lost without her! :)

I'm loving all of my new followers..just last week I announced the giveaway winner of my giveaway celebrating 300 followers and I'm already more than half way to 400 followers..y'all are AWESOME!! To be honest I feel like I've known some of y'all forever..crazy how you can make close friendships without having even meet each other! Speaking of that..I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to host a blogger meet up for the NC area if any of you Carolina girls want to? :) Leave me a comment on this post or email me and maybe we can start planning something!!
